At Gotham Soccer, players can join eligible leagues as individuals, often referred to as Free Agents. Instead of registering a complete team, you register yourself and Gotham helps connect you with a roster so you can play.
For someone new to a city, returning to soccer after time away, or simply without enough friends available to form a team, Free Agent registration provides another way into the league.

The term describes how you’re joining—not how good you are.

When the right opportunity exists, an individual player can be connected with one of those teams.
Another possibility is creating a roster from several people who all registered individually.
That means your teammates may also be people who entered the league without already knowing everyone on the roster.
There’s naturally a little more learning involved when a team is new. Players have to figure out positions, substitutions, personalities and how everyone likes to play.
But that’s also part of what makes Free Agent soccer interesting.
You’re not just finding somewhere to play—you may be meeting the group you’ll continue playing with in future seasons.
Not having enough people for a complete roster doesn’t mean everyone needs to register separately and hope for the best.
