11/06/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders - waiting for goal reports from FC Balls and Alphabet City

11/04/2015 - Last season in the English Premier League, teams were caught offside an average of 1.95 times per game. In Gotham Soccer League, teams are called offside about 2.83 times per game.

11/02/2015 - Let's talk about fouls:  last season in the English Premier League, teams averaged 11.37 fouls committed per game. When Gotham tracked fouls in our league, teams averaged only 6.33 fouls committed per game. The most fouls in a game were 13 committed by the Manhattan Comprehensive Eagles, and the fewest were the 3 committed by Orchard FC.

10/30/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders:

10/28/2015 - In our Division 1, games average 5.52 goals this season.  In Division 2, games average 5.71 goals.  Consistent!  For comparison, numbers for other leagues:  English Premier League - 2.67 goals per game.  The Bundesliga - 2.58 goals per game.

10/26/2015 - In the Premier League this season, teams are averaging 12.75 shots per game. When Gotham tracked shots over a period of time this year, teams averaged 14.17 shots per game in Gotham Soccer League.

10/23/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders:

10/21/2015 - In the English Premier League, the overall conversion rate (percentage of shots that find the back of the net) is consistently about 10%. This spring, Gotham tracked shooting statistics over the course of six games, and Gotham's 11v11 teams converted on 16% of their shots.

10/19/2015 - Since Gotham started filming games, we've filmed 26 penalties (including a shoot-out).  20 of them were converted. Only 2 missed the target.

10/16/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders:

10/14/2015 - When was the last time a midfielder won a Golden Boot? It could happen this season in our Division 2. After converting a spot kick last night, Sam Friedman of Triboro FC is tied at the top of the list with his teammate, Ryan Conti.

10/12/2015 - The Set Shop Ramblers have the best defense of all the teams in our two 11v11 divisions (1.40 goals allowed per game) but Ramblers Deux leaks the most goal (5.60 goals allowed per game).

10/09/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders (waiting for goals from Red Star and FC Balls)

10/07/2015 - Currently, ISL has four players tied for the team lead in goals:  Chris Davis, Dan Holness, Jack Bowen, and Joe Knoetzer all have 4 goals halfway through the season.  Is a well-balanced attack the key to winning the league?

10/05/2015 - Over the last week, both Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG) have become all-time leading scorers for their respective clubs. Does your team have someone who has accomplished this feat recently? Let us know and we'll recognize them. Thanks!

10/02/2015 - Golden Boot Leaders (waiting for goals from Red Star, FC Balls, and Eagles)

10/01/2015 - This season in the UEFA Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 5 of the 6 goals scored by Real Madrid. In Gotham's Division 1, Craig Schackner has now scored 7 of the 9 goals scored by OTPHJ FC.  Impressive!

09/30/2015 - Over the weekend Sebastian Giovinco set a new MLS record for combined goals and assists in a season (he has 20 goals and 15 assists, and there are still 4 games to play!). What attacking midfielders in Gotham have the strongest ability to both score AND assist? Mario Samara of Hudson FC? Brandon Stoneham of Set Shop Ramblers? Michael Gavriel from Orchard FC? Eddie Kim from Ballistic FC? Sam Wilcoxon from Sha Sha Queso?  Only time will tell!

09/29/2015 - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored in each of Borussia Dortmund's first 7 games in the Bundesliga (a new record).  Can anyone in Gotham pull this off?  There are still a bunch of players who could do this.  Check back here later on to find out if anyone pulls it off.

09/28/2015 - In their first 2 games of the fall season, ISL scored twice as many goals (14) as they scored the entire summer season (7). But were any of them better than this goal by Dan Michael?

09/27/2015 - Didier Drogba has scored 7 goals in 481 minutes of play since joining the Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. That's an impressive 68.7 minutes per goal. But how about this: in our Division 2, Triboro FC currently has THREE players with a scoring rate that's at least 60.0 minutes per goal or better! Ryan Conti (7 goals), Kanye Umejei (6 goals), and Sam Friedman (6 goals) have done all their scoring all in the first four games of the season.

09/26/2015 - Stat of the day: so far in our Division 1, we are averaging 5.89 total goals per game. At the same point in the Premier League season, the EPL was averaging 2.89 goal per game. Which would you rather watch?

09/25/2015 - Earlier this week, Robert Lewandowski scored 5 goals in 9 minutes for Bayern Munich. A few weeks ago in Gotham's Division 1, Charles Wasswa of the Brooklyn Gunners had 5 second half goals himself. See them here.
